Furnace Tune-Up
Our holiday gift: a furnace tune-up and safety check, free, on these conditions.
Conditions
- For furnaces that are running (if not heating, book a repair visit instead).
- One furnace per home.
- Residential only, in our service area.
- By appointment (7 spots a week).
- Parts and repairs are extra, and we quote before any work.
- No obligation.
- Available through January 10, 2027.
The same offer and terms are on our offers page.
What we check
A tune-up covers the same list as our offer. On a gas furnace we check and service:
- Burners (cleaned) and the flame.
- Ignition and the flame sensor.
- Safety switches.
- Carbon monoxide.
- Blower, filter and thermostat.
On an electric furnace we check and service:
- Heating elements and the relays that switch them on.
- Limit and safety switches.
- Electrical connections and the current each element draws.
- Blower, filter and thermostat.
We go over the results with you and show you photos of anything we find. You get a written list of any problems we find, with the price to fix each one. If the furnace needs a part or a repair, you get the price before any work starts, and the decision is yours.
Tune-up or repair visit?
- Tune-up. Your furnace heats, and you want it cleaned and checked before winter, or it is due for its yearly maintenance. Through January 10, 2027 it is $0 under the offer conditions.
- Repair visit. The furnace doesn’t heat, blows cold air, shuts off after a few minutes, shows an error code or makes new noises. We find the cause and give you the repair price before any work. The visit and diagnosis is $49 for one system through November 30, 2026, the same price evenings and weekends, residential only. If you approve the repair, we waive the $49 fee (parts and repairs are extra). See furnace repair.
If we find a problem during a tune-up, we show you what we found and quote the repair. You can say no.
Why once a year
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends having your heating system professionally inspected and serviced every year. A gas furnace burns fuel inside your home, and carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas, so you can’t count on noticing it yourself. A yearly visit is also a chance to find a worn part on a calm day instead of a cold night.
A tune-up doesn’t replace a carbon monoxide alarm. California law requires one in homes with a gas furnace or another fuel-burning appliance, a fireplace or an attached garage.
Yearly maintenance and our written warranty
If we repaired or installed your system, documented annual maintenance extends our written limited warranty:
- Residential repairs: 1 year on parts we supply and our labor (3 years with documented annual maintenance).
- New residential installations: 2 years on our workmanship (5 years with documented annual maintenance).
The maintenance can be done by any California-licensed HVAC contractor, not only by us. Keep the dated invoice or service report from each visit, with the contractor’s name and license number. Ask us for a copy of the complete written warranty terms.
Between tune-ups
- Filter. Check it regularly and replace it when it looks dirty (your furnace manual gives the schedule).
- Carbon monoxide alarm. If it goes off, get everyone outside right away and call 911.
- Gas smell. If you smell gas (a rotten-egg smell), leave the house right away. Don’t use light switches, appliances or phones inside. Once you are outside, call 911 and PG&E at 1-800-743-5000.
When we work
Tune-ups are by appointment. We are open 7 days a week, 7am–8pm, with emergency calls until midnight. We service furnaces of all major brands in Fair Oaks, Carmichael, Citrus Heights, Orangevale, Folsom, Roseville, Sacramento and the other communities on our service areas page. Book online, or call or text (916) 605-9767.
