Heating & Air Conditioning in Roseville, CA

Heating and cooling repair, installation and maintenance for Roseville homes, plus help with Roseville Electric heat pump rebate paperwork.

Climate and your system

Roseville (ZIP 95661, 95678 and 95747) is in California Building Climate Zone 11, as are Rocklin, Lincoln, Loomis and Granite Bay. Most of the rest of our area is Zone 12. For temperatures we rely on NOAA’s 1991–2020 normals from the Sacramento 5 ESE station, the nearest one with long-term records: a July average high of 94°F, roughly 23 triple-digit days a year, and January lows around 41°F with only a handful of freezing nights.

Title 24 sets the efficiency and test requirements for Zone 11, and Roseville Electric adds its own: a duct test verified by an ECC-Rater (formerly a HERS Rater) is a condition of its heat pump rebate.

Homes in Roseville

Roseville’s homes are relatively new: the typical home was built in 1998, and fewer than one in five dates from before 1980. Many of the systems installed in the late 1990s and 2000s are now reaching the age when owners start weighing repair against replacement, which is a good moment to look at a heat pump and the city’s rebates.

Permits: City of Roseville

The City of Roseville Building Division treats an HVAC and duct equipment changeout as a quick over-the-counter permit, applied for through the city’s online permit portal with a Title 24 energy form. Full plans are needed only when the new unit goes in the attic or on top of the roof. The installer normally handles the application. Utilities and rebates

Inside city limits your electricity comes from Roseville Electric, the city-owned utility, and your gas from PG&E. Roseville Electric customers may qualify for these rebates (subject to eligibility and program funding):

  • Heat pump replacing a gas furnace: $1,500 two-stage or $2,500 variable-stage
  • Heat pump replacing an electric system: $600 two-stage or $1,600 variable-stage (up to two systems per household)
  • Heat pump water heater: $2,500 replacing gas or $1,000 replacing electric

The heat pump rebate needs a City of Roseville building permit as well as the duct test verified by an ECC-Rater (formerly HERS). Details: heat pump rebate and heat pump water heater rebate on the city’s site. A Roseville mailing address doesn’t always mean Roseville Electric, so check who sends your electric bill.

Heating with a wood stove or fireplace?

Roseville is in Placer County, where the Placer County Air Pollution Control District offers vouchers of up to $5,000 (up to $10,000 for income-qualified households) for replacing an old wood stove, insert or fireplace used for heat with an electric heat pump. Common questions in Roseville

Yes. In California a building permit is required when an HVAC unit is replaced. In Roseville, residential HVAC permits come from the City of Roseville Building Division, and most replacements also require a Title 24 duct leakage test verified by an independent ECC-Rater (formerly HERS Rater). We get the permit and schedule the test for you.

Through November 30, 2026 our residential visit and diagnosis is $49 per system, and we waive the $49 fee if you approve the repair. The price is the same on evenings and weekends, and you get a written repair price before any work starts. New installation estimates are free.
